Description
Made for meat. Built to last. Properly South African. 🇿🇦🔥
Some things just belong next to a braai.
A cold dop. A pair of tongs. Something lekker sizzling over the coals… and one proper board waiting for the meat to come off.
Our boards are handcrafted from Kiaat... a beautiful African hardwood also known as Wild Teak. Kiaat has been prized across Southern Africa for generations for furniture, implements and craftsmanship because it is durable, easy to work, resistant to movement and absolutely beautiful once finished.
This isn't your flimsy kitchen chopping board.
These are solid slabs of Kiaat, made for carving steaks, slicing wors, resting a roast, serving the braai spread or simply sitting on the kitchen counter looking ridiculously good.
Every board has its own natural grain, colour and character. Some run lighter golden-brown, others deeper reddish-brown... that's part of owning something made from real timber rather than a mass-produced synthetic board.
And before yours leaves us, we oil it properly to nourish the timber, bring that beautiful Kiaat grain to life and get it ready for its first braai.
Choose your weapon 🔥
- Small Standard — 400 × 250 × 25 mm
Perfect for everyday chopping, smaller cuts and serving. - Medium Standard — 500 × 300 × 25 mm
The all-rounder. Lekker enough for the kitchen, big enough for the braai. - Large Standard — 900 × 360 × 38 mm
The Bobaas board. Nearly a metre of Kiaat for the man who doesn't believe in cooking one steak at a time. 😂🔥
Every standard board comes with a machined juice groove around the working surface.
Want yours to be a little more yours? Engraving and further customisation are available at an additional cost... names, initials, dates, gifts and special builds can all be discussed with us.
Made to get better with memories.
This isn't the type of board we're expecting you to keep spotless in a cupboard.
We want knife marks on it.
Steak juices in the groove.
A few scars from Saturday afternoons.
That one mark you'll swear came from your mate who "knows how to use a knife."
Because a proper braai board shouldn't just look good on day one.
It should tell a few stories by year ten.
Kiaat. Meat. Fire. Sorted. 🔥🥩🇿🇦
Because these are made from natural timber, grain pattern, colour and figuring will vary from board to board... which means no two are exactly alike.
Simple care: Hand-wash after use, don't soak it or put it in the dishwasher, allow it to dry properly, and periodically re-oil the timber to keep it looking lekker for years to come.
